#283. Working with the Pros! Dr. Mac discusses his career with the Florida Panthers, his take on the Toughest Sport on the Planet, and Innovation in Professional Sports.

In this episode, we welcome 'Dr Mac' to discuss his career in the Florida Panthers, his own take on the toughest sport in the world, the day-to-day life of an NHL athlete, innovation in professional sports, and a 6-hour long NHL game.  

 

Dr Chris McLellan is the Vice President of Sports Performance at the NHL Florida Panthers. Dr Mac had previously worked as a professor and head of school for the University of Southern Queensland's School of Health and Medical Sciences since 2019. Prior to his time there, he served as a professor of sports and exercise science at Bond University. In addition to his academic positions, Dr Mac concurrently led strength and conditioning, sports science, and athletic development programs as the director of athletic performance at the Gold Coast Titans in the National Rugby League and sports science coordinator with the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League. Dr Mac holds a bachelor's degree in exercise and sports science, a master's degree in physiotherapy and a doctoral degree in applied sports science.
