Tongan Rugby League has been given a massive boost following the Tongan’s courageous effort to make it through to the quarter-finals of the main draw, at the World Rugby League Sevens tournament held on the 24th & 25th of January, in Sydney.

Body Science showed their support for the talented Tongan team by becoming major jersey, supplement & clothing sponsors. This gave the Tongan team the necessary boost to make it to Sydney to compete in this 2 day competition.
Tonga began the competition on Day 1 by winning against France 21-15. France then went on to become the World Sevens International Cup winners. In their second match, Tonga lost to Fiji meaning that they would have to win there next match against Samoa to stay in contention.
Tonga came out firing on all cylinders on day 2 of the World Sevens competition winning against Samoa 33-14, taking Tonga to the quarter-final against the Manly Sea Eagles.
The crowd adopted the Tongan’s as there own when they ran out on the field to play the Sea Eagles. However this was not enough for this young Tongan team, going down in a close match 21-14.

The Tongan’s then thanked the crowd with a lap of honour and did their country proud with a traditional Tongan dance.
Body Science were proud to be a part of this major achievement for Tonga & hope that this will help them go on to build more Rugby League teams for future events held on an international stage.
