Diane and Glen, who operate Brisbane personal training business, Making Shapes, both competed successfully at two international bodybuilding events during June following their success at the NABBA/WFF Southern Hemisphere Bodybuilding, Figure and Fitness Championships on the Gold Coast during May.

As the Southern Hemisphere Masters (Over-40 years) and overall winner, Glen competed in the Masters (Over-40 years) division at the NABBA World Championship in Aberdeen Scotland, where he was awarded third place.

In the same competition, Figure Class One (Over 163cm) and overall Southern Hemisphere champion, Diane, placed an impressive sixth in her international debut.

The following weekend the couple performed even better at the WFF Universe Championship in Northeim, Germany.

Here, Glen just missed out on first place in the Extreme Body (Over-40 Years) division against a European favourite.

In the Athletic Women (Over-30 Years) division, Diane improved on her result from the previous weekend, placing third in a strong line up of the world’s best female physiques.

Together, Diane and Glen also won the Athletic Pairs Division.

After months of dieting and focusing on competition training and presentation, Glen and Diane followed their competitions with a week of travel through Europe, no doubt enjoying many calorie-rich meals along the way.

Back in Brisbane, they are again hard at work training clients, some of whom have been so inspired by their trainers’ success that they will also take to the stage later this year or next year, when Queensland hosts the 2004 NABBA World Championship at the Gold Coast Arts Centre on 13 June.

It is this competition that Diane and Glen will again be focusing on as they get back into training after a well-deserved break.

“We have already qualified for the 2004 NABBA World Championship and are looking forward to bettering this year’s results in front of a home crowd,” Glen said.

“We are proud with our achievements this year and could not have done so well without the support of friends, family, clients and sponsors, including Body Science, whose high quality and well-researched products have allowed me to maintain peak health and fitness levels and reach the top of this sport.

“We also thank Graham Powles from Aspley Cycles and Rob Blake from Blake’s Pest Control for their donations, and all our friends at Xtreme Fitness, where most of our clients are based, for their ongoing support.”

While Di and Glen specialise in preparing people for bodybuilding and figure shaping competitions, they also assist those who are keen to achieve their own personal health and fitness goals, or who compete in other sports.
